In early 2019, the TSSA proposed a new platform in which they would charge Flat Rate for Engineering and Inspections.
The mobile amusement industry has the following proposed changes, and require Industry feedback.
Proposed New Fee Structure: New & Major Alterations Application
For a NEW hard ride on average, the TSSA charges $1572, this includes Engineering and Initial Inspection.
The TSSA is proposing a flat rate of $1570 per NEW AD Application or Major Alteration Application.
Includes engineering, initial inspection, travel & 1 subsequent inspection.
Proposed New Fee Structure: Permits – Annual
Current average annual costs per AD is $224 for a permit, and $697 (4,5 hours) for periodic inspection for a total of $921.
The new proposed Flat Rate would be $1160.00 and Includes permit, periodic inspection, travel & 1 follow-up.
The biggest part of both changes is that these fees are to be paid PREPAID.
Both items require the consensus from the Industry as a whole. These items are on the table and are looking to be introduced in 2021.
